Thanks to internet dating we now have much better chances of finding a partner. But how do I know if that woman on my screen is the right one for me?

Understand that this is primarially about you and her. Don't try to please your family or friends when it goes against your own feelings but also don't ignore their observations.

Be aware of where your feelings are coming from. Do you want the relationship because she will offer you better status among friends, more wealth, better sex, security, companionship ....

The internet can cover a multitude of untruths about a person. Many have been deceived by "too good to be true" dates. State strongly when you meet someone that honesty is important to you and if she doesn't want to say something let her know you'd rather she not say it than lie about it.

All people carry secrets into a relationship. Don't demand complete openess. Earn her repect and she will open to you in his time.

At the same time she must earn your respect and trust. Keep vigilent and suspicious of any discrepancies but consider carefully how important an issue is to your relationship before confronting her with it. Sometimes a "wait(cautiously) and see" approach is best.

Set your boundaries within your confines of trust for her and stick to them. Don't let her force you into a situation you are uncomfortable in. If she won't respect this now, she won't respect you later.
